Leadership Coaching
The DCA Leadership Coaching Model is
based on the belief that effective coaching is about building and sustaining
effective relationships and understanding how those relationships work
in organisational settings.
Our approach to coaching has been influenced by the work
of the following:
- John Heron, an international expert in facilitation skills
- Chris Argyris a world-wide expert in learning in organisations
Another major influence on our Coaching Model is the
use of the work of the late Dr Will Schutz who, over 40 years ago, introduced
the world to a theory of interpersonal relations called the Fundamental
Interpersonal Relations Orientation (FIRO).
He developed FIRO Element B, which is a psychometric
instrument that provides feedback on the behavioural aspects of human
interaction. The theory presents three dimensions of interpersonal relations
that are necessary to explain most human interaction:
